Kwesi

British soul vocalist Kwesi relies on the inspiration of both hip-hop (which he previously performed with rap act Sunchilde) and classic soul music (he was influenced by Al Green) to make one of England's satisfying fusions of the two forms. Signed to British Sony in 1997, he released his debut album Testimony in October of that year. ~ John Bush
