About London Madrigal Singers
The London Madrigal Singers were founded in 1965 by their director, Christopher Bishop. The group, whose membership included such well known soloists as Ian Partridge, was primarily classical in orientation, and specialized in the singing of sixteenth century choral music and other works suited to a small choir. Their frequent appearances on the BBC coincided with their work on several EMI albums. This came to include the folk song arrangements of Ralph Vaughan Williams, hence their inclusion on these pages. ~ Bruce Eder
