Raine Maida

In 2006, singer and songwriter Raine Maida -- the frontman of the Canadian post-grunge band Our Lady Peace -- released an EP, Love Hope Hero, which was inspired by the beat poets and songwriters, like Patti Smith and Leonard Cohen, who straddled the literary and musical worlds. An acoustic, mostly spoken word full-length project, The Hunter's Lullaby, followed in 2007. ~ Steve Leggett
