The Bluebells

Despite the bulk of their modest-sized catalog being issued in the early '80s, Glaswegian jangle pop act The Bluebells have been remembered for decades after their initial, minor splash with 1984's Sisters. This was mainly due to unforeseen success enjoyed by a 1993 reissue of the radio-friendly "Young at Heart" following its inclusion on a Volkswagen TV ad. It sat at number one in the U.K. for four straight weeks that year, also charting highly elsewhere across Europe. Aside from the occasional gig or TV appearance, the Bluebells were largely defunct for the 2000s and 2010s. They did, however, return in the 2020's with two albums that turned the clock back: 2023's In the 21st Century and 2026's This is...the Bluebells.
