At 8, when my sister became the children’s choir director at our church, the expectation was that I would join and help. Though a soprano, was made to teach three-part harmonies. Dru Hill, Enter the Dru Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Richard Smallwood, 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Richard Smallwood Lauryn Hill's flawless album proved women could be valued for talent and lyrics, not just looks—a struggle I faced early on. Smallwood's musicality is unmatched, and to this day, I can listen to harmony-driven Dru Hill's album on repeat, no skips.
