The Watson Family

In the mid-'60s, the Watson and Carlton families were recorded and created a storehouse of traditional mountain music. Though Doc Watson shines through (as expected), the resulting albums were by no means his showcase. Joining him are mother Annie, wife Rosa Lee, father-in-law Gaither Carlton, brother Arnold, and son Merle. This is as authentic as country music gets, folks. ~ David Vinopal
