About Anchorsong
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The Offspring's concert in Osaka, circa 1997. I skipped my school to attend it, and I felt the excitement I'd never experienced in my life. It was a small venue and insanely hot inside. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Baden Powell, Baden Powell À Vontade Björk, Homogenic Can, Ege Bamyasi (Remastered) I named my alias after Bjork's song "The Anchor Song" from Debut. I wanted to choose that album instead of Homogenic, but the search system couldn't find it. Baden Powell is my all time favorite guitarist. If I could attend any concert, it'd be CAN. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Ocean (feat. Bookend)” I originally asked someone else to sing on this track, but it didn't happen. Then bookend, who's my best friend, randomly sent me a poetry she wrote and recorded more than 10 years ago. It fitted the track perfectly like a jigsaw fall into place. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I supported Prefuse 73 in London around 2008. At the end of his set, he invited me to join him on stage and we jammed together. He was on MPC, and I was on the key. When I told him I'm no good at improvising, he told me to play only black keys. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to write a song with Carly Rae Jepsen. She's my favorite pop star.
