Doyle Lawson

About Doyle Lawson

Doyle Lawson has been one of the top mandolin players in bluegrass music since the early days of his career in the 1960s. Lawson worked with the Country Gentlemen and J.D. Crowe before forming his own group, Quicksilver, where he incorporated traditional gospel quartet singing into his music and honed his unique bluegrass-gospel sound to a remarkable intensity. The stalwart six-man group has remained active for over four decades, touring relentlessly and issuing acclaimed efforts like Rock My Soul, More Behind the Picture Than the Wall, In Session, and Roundtable.
