Lars Winnerbäck

Playing a concert in his hometown of Linköping, Sweden's Lars Winnerbäck got to know punk singer/songwriter veteran Johan Johansson, who would act as his mentor and produce two of his records: 1996's Dans Med Svåra Steg and 1997's Rusningstrafik, which reached a small clique of singer/songwriter fans. Med Solen I Ögonen, released on Universal, included more pop and rock. 1999's KOM! won him a Swedish Grammy award for Best Lyrics, and the Bellmanpriset, an award for singer/songwriters. 2001's Singel, which established him as a fixture on the Swedish pop scene, received even more attention. ~ Lars Lovén
