Cartel de Santa

Cartel de Santa is a rap group from Monterrey, whose name was inspired by Santa Muerte, the Mexican folk saint of death. ∙ In 2010, the group’s fifth LP, Sincopa, earned them a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Urban Latino Album. ∙ Their sixth LP, 2014’s Golpe Avisa, was their first to crack the top 10 of Billboard’s Latin Albums chart. ∙ Viejo Marihuano, from 2016, was their first record to go Gold in Mexico.
