About Brandon Seabrook

Brandon Seabrook is a guitarist, banjoist, and composer based in New York. Seabrook's music focuses on intersections between improvisation and structure via fragmented, rapidly changing soundscapes and an immense dynamic range with rapid tremolo picking, contorted chord and tonal clusters, and a hyper-physical playing style. He has worked with more than 100 artists including John Zorn, Peter Evans, Anthony Braxton, and Jessica Lurie. In 2009 and 2011, he led the apocalyptic Seabrook Power Plant on two eponymous albums. 2011's solo Sylphid Vitaliers was followed by the 2014 quintet offering Die Trommel Fatale and the 2017 quartet date Needle Driver. 2020's free jazz-rock Exultations was recorded with Cooper-Moore and Gerald Cleaver; the trio returned in 2022 with In the Swarm. He issued Brutalovechamp with his Epic Proportions octet in 2023, a year before the solo Object of Unknown Function. 2026's follow-up Hellbent Daydream was recorded with his Architecture of Uncompromising Sound.
