Assembled by ex-Banda Machos José Elpidio Morfin aka Pepe Morfin, Bernardo Lomeli and Mauricio Bueno the Mexican "tecnobanda" BM3 (not related to the molecular biology, biochemistry and bioinformatics acronym) emerged in 2001 with Evolución a collection of Mexican rhythms performed in a more sophisticated and electronic-driven form popularized in the U.S. West Coast in the early 1990s as a contemporary version of the traditional banda style from Sinaloa, also known as "sinaloense". ~ Drago Bonacich
