In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was Hansel in Hansel and Grettel in elementary school and the Amahl in Amahl and the Night Visitors when I was 9. It was Opera North’s first production in Vermont. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Ella Fitzgerald, Ella Swings Lightly Morcheeba, Big Calm Queen, Greatest Hits I, II & III: The Platinum Collection For the energy, for the vibe. And for the amazing artistry and musicianship. Tell us why you chose this song. “When the World Falls Apart” I wrote this during Covid but I feel like it’s not restricted contextually or emotionally. That it’s a feeling we all have at times. I hope it can be reassuring. It’s one of my most streamed songs. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My Carnegie Hall and Metropolitan Opera contracts felt like winning the performing lottery at the time. Joining and touring with Chanticleer was an incredible musical experience. And starting my own tours around 2013 was life changing. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The arts can be an unique solution to problems, personal and global. I turn to music as a form of expression. I appreciate great story telling. My goal as an artist is to help my audience connect deeply with their emotional response to music.
