El Payo Malo

Spanish MC El Payo Malo (born Jose Antonio Abril) moved from his native Granada to Torrente de la Marina, Tarrasa, at the age of 11. Influenced by American rap records released in the late 1980s, El Payo Malo joined a local movement known as Funkomuna, soon, participating in Barcelona-based hip-hop act Solo Los Solo's recording sessions and live performances. In 2000, local independent label Avoid released his debut single called "Tropiezos y Pasos," issuing his first album, Con La Tierra En Los Bolsillos, a year later. ~ Drago Bonacich
