About Vigil

After parting ways with the noise-pop antics of Penelope Trip, Pedro Vigil moved on to synthesize something completely outside of the indie influenced boundaries. Along with an ensemble of musicians that stretched from an orchestration of strings, brass and percussion, to even a female chorus, Vigil instigated a number of cocktail pop numbers that took an influence of Martin Denny, Juan Garcia Esquivel and other 60's jazz composers. Resulting in a hybrid of exotic spy themes and quirky bossa nova, the Gijon, Spain native had the chance to debut his first full-length Música Para Hacer la Digestión in 1998. ~ Mike DaRonco
