About Alan Titchmarsh

Beginning his career in the 1980s Alan Titchmarsh became best known as a British TV presenter of horticultural programs like Gardener's World and Ground Force. In 1988 he moved into radio hosting for House in the Garden alongside Gloria Hunniford. Starting in 2006, Titchmarsh presented Melodies for You, also on BBC Radio 2, on which he played popular and classical music. In 2011, he left Radio 2 and joined Classic FM to present a Saturday morning show. In 2018, he teamed up with Classic FM's composer-in-residence Debbie Wiseman for a record. The album was called The Glorious Garden, and featured Titchmarsh reading his own poems about flowers and plants over Wiseman's original compositions. ~ Bekki Bemrose
