About Max Albright
A top percussionist in the 1950s, Max Albright came from a musical family; his parents worked in theater pits for silent movies. Albright worked steadily during the second half of the 1940s and throughout the '50s, including stints with Boyd Raeburn, Charlie Barnet and most notably, the NBC staff orchestra. He appeared on many records in the 1950s, including one of his own that has been reissued by V.S.O.P. (Mood for Max). Not much is known of Albright's activities since the late 1950s, or even whether he is still alive. ~ Scott Yanow
