Based in Nashville, Paul Kennerley is a British songwriter and musician who has worked in country music, Americana, and pop since the early 1970s. He enjoyed a run of hits in the mid-'80s and '90 for artists like the Judds, Marty Stuart, Tanya Tucker, and Emmylou Harris, to whom he was also married. His credits as a songwriter are extensive and include Dave Edmunds, Solomon Burke, Ray Charles, Albert Lee, and many more. Kennerley is also known for writing a pair of concept albums -- White Mansions (1978) and The Legend of Jesse James (1979) -- which were produced by Glyn Johns and feature notable guest stars such as Waylon Jennings, Eric Clapton, Johnny Cash, and Levon Helm. An anthology of demos, played and sung by Kennerley, was released in 2025.
