Charles Wadsworth

Pianist and music promoter Charles Wadsworth founded several influential chamber music series and directed them for many years. As a pianist, he was heard on recordings by some of the top opera stars of the second half of the 20th century. He had a strong commitment to contemporary music and commissioned more than 60 new works during his time as artistic director of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Wadsworth lived to see some of his recordings included in compilations such as Great Moments at Carnegie Hall (2016).
