About Mirko Guerrini

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I come from a musical family, and my beloved dad was a great clarinet and saxophone player. I have studied Classical saxophone, Composition and Jazz at the Conservatorium in Florence, Italy. Then I completed my jazz studies in Siena and New York. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Claudio Abbado, Teatro Alla Scala Orchestra, Verdi: Aida John Coltrane, John Coltrane – Ballads (1956 - 1962) Keith Jarrett Quartet, Personal Mountains I am a jazz musician who was stolen from classical music. The opera Aida by Verdi, is my favourite, while Coltrane's Ballads and Personal Mountains are examples of the power of jazz, where individualism is sacrificed towards the spirit of creation. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Along The Road” This song was commissioned by ABC Kids. It has a very light Italian sound that reminds me of the mood of a young child walking by a busy street. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing and touring with: Ivano Fossati, Giorgio Gaber and ultimately, the band Carioca with Stefano Bollani and fabulous Brazilian musicians. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Keep searching for new ideas and never stop trying to improve.
