In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In the '80s at the Cotton Club near UC Berkeley, I felt a jolt watching The Producers live. Around the same time, early Prince, Dirty Mind and Controversy hit me hard. Hendrix meets James Brown. Those moments lit a fuse in me that never went out. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Audioslave, Audioslave Journey, Escape (Bonus Track Version) Prince, Controversy Prince showed me what it meant to be a one man creative force. Journey’s Escape was full of melody and emotion. Chris Cornell’s voice especially on I Am the Highway, left a mark on me that has never faded. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Promise Me” “Promise Me” is about the unbreakable bond we share with someone we have lost or will soon loose. Even when they are gone, their presence stays with us in spirit. It is a reminder that love never truly ends, it just changes form. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Recording my debut song with Grammy-winning producer Bob St. John and having it mastered by Ted Jensen, the same legend behind so many iconic albums, was surreal. That moment made it all real. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to play Red Rocks under the stars, release a full album, collaborate with a musical hero, and perform with a string section. One day, I hope to hear a crowd sing my lyrics. Maybe even write a song that outlives me. That is the dream.
