In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I still remember the first time I listened to pop music: I had placed a magnetic tape from my mom, who was an english teacher, into the family 8-track tape recorder. It was The Beatles, and it was magical! It opened my ears to a whole new world. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Buena Vista Social Club, Buena Vista Social Club Marc Anthony, El Cantante Music from and Inspired by the Original Motion Picture Romeo Santos, Utopía I can listen to Buena Vista Social Club effortless magic anytime. I love how Marc Anthony managed to give a new life to the genius of Hector Lavoe. The collaborations between Romeo Santos and the giants of Bachata Dominicana make my heart sing. Tell us why you chose this song. “El Cotillo” El Cotillo, a small fishing fishing village in the north coast of Fuerteventura, features traditional white houses with blue doors and windows. With this song I tried to recreate the beauty of it with a traditional feel, while keeping a dancing beat. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I started my first rock group at the age of 16, answering a small ad in the paper posted by a fellow guitarist. When we met, we immediately connected musically, and went on to enjoy 5 years of playing together. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My love for latin music has led me to the creation of La Sonora Volcánica. This is only the beginning. I have great hope for it, and hopefully it will lead to performing around the world, sharing my love of music.
