In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 6 or 7, a boy freshly moved from Charlotte to Atlanta, I heard Ray Charles cover “Yesterday.” Coming from Ray, it was the idea that there were more Yesterdays on the the books than would be Tomorrows. And it scared the shit out of me.
