About Floyd Tillman
Texas-born country singer/guitarist Floyd Tillman played with Western swing bandleaders like Adolph Hofner and Cliff Bruner in the 1930s, but in the late-'30s and 1940s he became a successful recording artist in his own right. With a mix of Western swing and honky-tonk, Tillman score hits with such tunes as "They Took the Stars Out of Heaven," "I Love You So Much It Hurts," and "Slippin' Around." In subsequent decades, Tillman kept a considerably lower profile, but remained musically active. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame since 1971, Tillman passed away in 2003 at the age of 89.
