Lichočar

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Our band was founded in 2018 in Brno, Czech Republic. We were three friends who decided to explore who or what exactly Lichočar – by that point, only a name based on a few Slavic mythological creatures that one of us came up with – actually was. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bear McCreary, Black Sails (A Starz Original Series Soundtrack) Porcupine Tree, Fear of a Blank Planet Various Artists, At the Heart of a Selkie Because of the masterful, wonderful music storytelling in all of these :) Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Matičky (Urð Hétu Ęina) [feat. Jonáš Onderka]” Our "Matičky" is a song about an ancient trinity being once worshiped all over Europe. In the story we tell with the whole album, it is a schizoid being. We tried to explore its other-wordiness in this song. The result feels strange even to us :) What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable experience so far was recording our first album, which was a huge lesson for all the band members, of course ;) Second to this stands our first public author's reading of our short stories about Lichočar, the misfortune demon. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We'd like to go and play at a big open-air folk music/world music/medieval folk music festival in not-so-distant future. Also, our dream is to have the opportunity to collaborate on composing a game or perhaps a film soundtrack one day.
