About Spike Robinson
American jazz saxophonist Spike Robinson made a name for himself following WWII jamming in various London jazz clubs. Robinson was eventually transferred back to the states, and took a nearly 30-year hiatus from music before taking up the sax again. He played at various local clubs often alongside famed composer/musician Dave Grusin. In 1981, Robinson recorded for the first time since his London sessions, and in 1984 he finally took up a full-time career in music. In 1989 he relocated again to Britain, recording a succession of superb albums throughout the '90s.
