Emerging from a thriving scene in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Holyroller throw a host of seemingly disparate styles together -- sludgy riffs and precise guitar solos mixed with an angular punk edge and even a dash of shattering screamed vocals alongside clear melodic lines -- for an emergent and unique rock sound. Though their earliest works were issued in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, full-length albums Swimming Witches and Rat King ably conveyed a dynamic shared musicianship, with a few members of local bands helping out on their full-length debut.
