GDR cites Nick Smith of The Black Sorrows, Grace Jones, Nile Rogers, Stevie Wonder, Renee Geyer and Bob Marley as some of his musical influences. Whilst a fugitive he continued his love of music by busking, singing in piano bars and forming a band.
