Aara

Switzerland's Aara are an atmospheric black metal project founded in 2018 by male multi-instrumentalist/composer Berg and female vocalist/lyricist Fluss. They don't play live. The duo released their debut album, So fallen alle Tempel, and signed with Debemur Morti for the release of Anthropozän (I & II); both appeared in 2019. They evolved into a trio when drummer J (Jöschu Käser) came on board to record En Ergô Einai (with a guest spot by Blut Aus Nord mastermind Vindsval). In March 2021 they began a conceptual trilogy with the album Triade I: Eos; its second chapter, Triade II: Hemera, appeared in May 2022. They released the Phthonos EP later in 2022, and issued the final part of the trilogy, Triade III: Nyx, in March 2023. In 2024, the band enlisted Markus Stock to produce, mix, and master Eiger. The album garnered an international host of laudatory reviews.
