Chad Hugo

Grammy-winning producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Chad Hugo is known for shaping the sound of modern pop, rap, and R&B as one-half of the enormously successful duo the Neptunes, and fusing several genres in the alternative hip-hop trio N.E.R.D. Along with fellow Neptune Pharrell Williams, Hugo earned recognition in the late '90s/early 2000s with production for Kelis, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Mystikal, and others, leading to work on major hits by Britney Spears, Nelly, Usher, *NSYNC, and more. They formed the label Star Trak Entertainment, and ventured into eclectic rap-rock with their band N.E.R.D. While still active with the Neptunes and N.E.R.D, Hugo frequently worked with singer/songwriter Kenna, and additionally produced or remixed songs by artists ranging from Ashlee Simpson to Kings of Leon. As part of the Neptunes, Hugo was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020. He released his first solo single, "Jumpupw!nya," in 2026.
