About Jaenette
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is from when I was like 2 yrs old. My mom loved Karen White's 'Superwoman' song. I learned all the lyrics and melodies. I sang it to my dad all the time. Haha. Always was the type to let 'em know, "I'm not your superwoman." What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jamie Foxx, Unpredictable John Legend, Love In the Future (Deluxe) Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill I like albums that you can listen to straight through, no skips. Mostly hit song after hit song. Those are the kind of albums I make, so that's what I like to hear in other albums. That's how I identify my favorites. These albums are classics to me. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “I Know” This song is true to the style of music I like to sing - sultry, sexy with deep baselines. I like performing this live because the natural bpm of the song offers me the opportunity to play with the tempo, rhythm, and overall sound. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I've accomplished a lot so far but my most memorable moment happened at the intimate listening party for the LOVECHILD album. There was a moment when I decided to give the mic to my grandfather. He started singing to me. It was magical. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Ahhh, bucket lists... Yeah... I always thought it'd be cool to live abroad and perform at small venues that are kind of tucked away. Sporadic, unplanned, performances. Get up close and personal with the audience.
