About Gina Saputo

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember harmonizing with my Dad in the kitchen every night as a kid. We were always singing, often with him on guitar. We formed our first trio when I was about 13 and started gigging in clubs, so I had to stand outside the doors until showtime. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Carmen McRae, Carmen Sings Monk (Remastered) John Coltrane, Johnny Hartman, John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman Classics Sarah Vaughan, Sarah Vaughan at Mister Kelly's (Live 1957) Jazz vocals at their best. Carmen playfully takes on Monk's complex melodies and brings them to life without becoming cliche. Sarah Vaughan with her honesty, tone and range, is unparalleled. Ballads is a masterclass in interplay and storytelling. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Youre No Good” It’s raw and unguarded. Slowing ‘You’re No Good’ down allowed me to really connect with the lyrics and explore. On my new record DAYDREAM, it becomes a moment of reflection a declaration of strength, knowing your worth, and walking away with resolve
