About D'Markuz

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up in Vega Alta around instruments because my dad was a musician. He taught me percussion young, and by 13 I played with him and my brother. That family and barrio vibe inspired me before getting into urbano. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Daddy Yankee, Barrio Fino Don Omar, King of Kings Wisin & Yandel, Los Extraterrestres Los Extraterrestres showed me vision, unión and futuristic urbano before the genre went global. King of Kings taught me power and presence in music. Barrio Fino is pure reggaeton roots and hustle — it shaped my confidence and hunger to make hits. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Tiene Poderes” Tiene Poderes” is special to me because it captures a sensual trap vibe with mystery and energy. It was one of the first songs where I locked in my sound and confidence, blending emotion, seduction and street rhythm into my own style. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments was traveling to Chile and performing more than seven packed shows. Hearing the crowd sing my songs so far from Puerto Rico confirmed that my music connects beyond borders. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’m entering a new chapter with more focus and experience. I want to take Puerto Rico’s urbano energy worldwide, perform on the biggest stages, collaborate with legends and new voices, and build a legacy that inspires my people to dream bigger.
