About Jot Maxi
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was around 7 years old I was waiting in the back of a car in London, and 'Coolio - Gangster's Paradise' was playing on the CD player, I stuck it on repeat and decided to write my own verses to it... I've been writing lyrics ever since! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Cypress Hill, Black Sunday Fatboy Slim, You've Come a Long Way Baby Korn, Issues From hearing the goovy high-speed rap flows of Cypress Hill at 10 years old, to grooving out to the experimental electronics of Fatboy Slim at 12, and then having this Korn album on repeat when I started skateboarding at 13, these sounds shaped me! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Who Can Stand?” Anyone that knows my sound or my stuff with 'Hacktivist' (band) can tell that I mix and switch genres a lot, and for me this one really encapsules some of my favourite elements. Vulnerable dark-pop and gritty vocals over Prodigy-esque breakbeat...! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Supporting Korn for a sold out show at the O2 Brixton Academy in London was an absolute dream come true... It was immense to see the auditorium completely full on all 3 levels wall to wall, and to share the stage with a band that I loved. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are many artists that I'd still love to work with, and many soundscapes I'd still like to explore. There's so much unreleased material I'm currently working on. And now I have a firm faith in God, I know anything is possible, hold on tight!
