In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 6 years old I remember drumming along with a song on the radio. It was in standard 4/4 time and I was convinced that in my tapping, I had invented the classic beat of kick-snare, kick-kick-snare. I have continued to air drum ever since! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Charli xcx, BRAT Edie Brickell, New Bohemians, Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars Gillian Welch, Time (The Revelator) Edie Brickell was my Mum’s favorite when I was kid - we listened to it countless times. Gillian first introduced me to the wonder of songcraft, coupled with beautiful instrumentation and musicianship. I love the songs, energy and production of Brat. Tell us why you chose this song. “Marley Sitting on a Pumpkin Seed” I love this song because it's the first kids' song I wrote for my niece Marley. I never thought of becoming a kids' artist until I played it for a friend who suggested we record it. 'Marley' then won a NZ music award & inspired this whole project!
