Daniel Chapman

Daniel "danimal" Chapman was born June 20, 1976 in Freehold, New Jersey (hometown of Bruce Springstein). He had an uneventful childhood and moved to Miami at the age of 5. Dan attended the University of Florida, and while there closely followed the local music scene. In 1996 he became a music reviewer for the "Detours" section of the University of Florida newspaper the "Independent Florida Alligator." "The Alligator" was hailed as the largest student run newspaper in North America. By late 1997, he became the music editor of "Detours" and was the only staff writer not majoring in a Journalism-related field.
