Goran Kajfes Tropiques

Goran Kajfeš Tropiques are a 21st century vanguard jazz quartet from Sweden, led by trumpeter/synthesist/composer Goran Kajfeš. Their electro-acoustic sound weds post-bop, improvisation, modal, classical, and folk tenets into an incomparable whole. They were formed in 2011, and their constant lineup since includes the trumpeter, keyboardist Alex Zethson, double bassist Johan Berthling, and drummer Johan Holmegar. Seasoned by years of live performance, they issued their single-track debut album, Enso, in 2017. It was followed two years later by Into the Wild with featured guest Christer Bothén on bass clarinet. After the pandemic and tours of Europe and the U.S., they issued Tell Us for WeJazz in 2024.
