St. Louis singer and rapper 5ive broke through in 2019 with “Me and My Brother,” a tribute to his late twin. • Will Porter, aka 5ive, grew up in a musical household. Inspired by hip-hop and R&B, he and his twin brother, Walter, got their start posting videos on YouTube. • Three weeks after Walter’s death in 2019, 5ive hit the studio and finished “Me and My Brother,” a song they’d started together. • “Me and My Brother” became a streaming hit and earned 5ive a deal with Columbia Records. • While still in high school, 5ive released a series of follow-up singles, including “Exposed Emotions” and “I Really Need You.”
