About Silas J. Dirge

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I have very fond memories of my father and me watching spaghetti westerns with the music of Ennio Morricone. I was about 8 years old when I first heard his music and would whistle the theme to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly for weeks. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 16 Horsepower, Secret South Aldous Harding, Aldous Harding Nirvana, In Utero 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition These albums help me write. The imagery of the lyrics put me in the right mindset. It's not the darkness I seek, but how to put my own into words. I love the grit in all these albums. They are pure, mysterious, and dark. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Under the Old Oak Tree” This is probably my most personal song. It's about the need to be by myself from time to time. And that I am fine when I do that. You can find me in the shadows. I like it here. The tree in the song eventually pulls me under and I let it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My song Below and Above was used in the movie "Eddie & Sunny" starring Gabriel Luna and Joanna Vanderham. They used the full song in the sequence where the father - Eddie, played by Gabriel Luna - is searching for his kidnapped wife and son.
