Consone Quartet

Specializing in music of the Classical and early Romantic eras, the Consone Quartet's approach combines historical awareness with a directness of expression that has set it apart from other ensembles working in historically informed performance practice. The quartet became the first period instrument string quartet to be selected as BBC New Generation Artists. This distinction reflected both the originality of their approach and the growing recognition of its work in the U.K. and abroad. Formed in 2012 at the Royal College of Music in London, the Consone Quartet performs on period instruments. Consone Quartet's debut recording, featuring music by Haydn and Mendelssohn, was released in 2018. In 2023, It began a three-album survey of Mendelssohn's string quartets.
