Die Schlagerpiloten

Schlager music continues to endure in Germany, offering featherweight pop melodies with simple lyrics extolling the joys of romance and exotic getaways. If one views the genre as somewhere between standard adult contemporary and the smooth sounds of yacht rock, it’s not hard to explain a group like Die Schlagerpiloten: affable male singers crooning their hits in full naval dress whites. Since the release of their 2019 debut Lass uns fliegen, they’ve put seven albums (and even three compilations) in the Top Ten of their native record charts, including the number one Rio (2019) and Echte Liebesbriefe (2025).
