In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Taking lyrics I'd heard at a store to my librarian so she coudl help me figure out what song they were from. It ended up being "Put Your Records On," which was my first time hearing a song about the beauty of natural hair. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Opening for THE legend Mavis Staples three times. It's always a huge honor and a deeply inspiring experience. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To play Tiny Desk! I've always discovered amazing msuic there and have always dreamed of adding my name to that legendary list. I'm also a huge Allison Russel and Corinne Bailey Rae fan and would love to sing with them one day. A girl can dream!
