About Kam Falk

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Performing the symphonic piece, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, by George Gershwin was a highlight of my young musical career. I was in the cello section, having studied with Professor John Erlich of Drake University before concentrating specifically on bass. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jeff Lorber Fusion, Wizard Island Steely Dan, Aja Remastered Weather Report, Heavy Weather These are three albums that inspired me to become a musician. Heavy Weather was my introduction to jazz fusion, Aja was a tremendous achievement in record production, and Wizard Island was an outstanding model for an album that could be played live. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Acceptance [feat. John Favicchia & Ismael Vergara] (With Keyboard Solo)” This was my first collaboration with John "Fav" Favicchia. I wrote it specifically with him in mind as the drummer, and he was extremely gracious in accepting and producing his incredible drum track. Ismael Vergara produced his sax performance, too. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Graduating from Florida Atlantic University with a Master of Music was both a memorable moment and an achievement that ultimately took decades to accomplish around life's hurdles. It began in 1990 at the Univ. of Miami, and I finished at FAU in 2009. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? YES. After decades of performing cover material while composing and recording in the background, I would love to take my original music beyond the studio and onto the live stage. That would represent the ultimate reward for patience and perseverance.
