Pan Amsterdam

Pan Amsterdam is the moniker of rapper, producer, and trumpet player Leron Thomas. This Houston-born, New York-based artist blends together lucid lyricism, experimental hip hop production, jazz-based improvisation, and whip smart commentary on politics and society. In addition to his work in jazz circles, Thomas has collaborated with big name artists such as Mos Def, Bilal, and Lauryn Hill, all while building an ample solo discography of his own. Pan Amsterdam took his powerful multi-genre approach to different places on every new album, getting into moody rock songs, glitchy rap production, P-Funk-descendant grooves, spoken word passages, and more on efforts like his 2025 album Confines.
