Octoberman

A Canadian indie rock collective led by Marc Morrissette, Octoberman rose out of Vancouver's music scene in the latter half of the 2000s with a loose and appealingly organic sound. Initially launched as a solo endeavor, the project's early output was more folk-oriented. This changed over subsequent releases like 2007's Run from Safety and 2009's Fortresses, which bore a more potent, full-band rock sound that drew comparisons to Stephen Malkmus and Sparklehorse. Following 2014's What More What More, Octoberman entered a nearly decade-long hiatus before returning to work with their sixth album, 2023's There You Were, followed two years later by Chutes.
