In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. A daughter of a band director and a poet, I came into music at an early age. My favorite memories are playing clarinet with my dad at the baton, sitting next to my piano teacher every Sunday at church, and singing with my Mamaw on her carport. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Ella and Louis Classics Indigo Girls, The Essential Indigo Girls The Gabe Dixon Band, The Gabe Dixon Band The songwriting, the mastery, the vibes, the lyrics, the obvious connection of the musicians: I can listen to all of these albums over and over and always find something new. Justin Lepard)” I wrote this one for my mama, in a time where her Alzheimer's was really taking her into a different reality. I wanted to have a song that used recordings of her voice messages to me, because she always spoke love to me. She is my very best friend.
