DAAZ

Daaz is the stage name of Germán Arzate, a rapper and producer from Cancún, Mexico. Shortly after moving to Mexico City, he released his first single "Homie" in 2018 and one year later had his first hit with the Disney parody of "Hakuna Matata." It was soon dwarfed by the viral success of 2021's "Te Marqué Pedo" with Alex Luna. That same year Daaz also released his debut full-length El Rey De La Selva, and a joint EP with Fano titled Caribe 4 Life, which demonstrated his growing interest in Caribbean rhythms. A strictly fun-loving rapper in the beginning, Daaz's later material started revealing a more introspective side -- a dichotomy that informed much of German vs DAAZ, his 2023 sophomore album.
