About Bobby Soul
A main fixture of the Genovese music scene during the early to mid-'90s, as well as a prominent DJ specializing in soul and funk in the '80s, Bobby Soul (born Alberto De Benedetti) lent his vocals to the ragga band Sensaciou, the funk group Blindosbarra, and the avant-garde a cappella jazz quintet Le Voci Atroci, as well has having a hand in many other projects, before finally releasing his debut, Draghi Rossi & Buchi Neri, in 2007. Though it was a solo record, Soul got a lot of contributions from the artists he'd worked with throughout the years (including Sensaciou's Bob Quadrilli) on the album's tracks, one of which was a cover of the Battisti-Mogol song "Un Uomo Che Ti Ama." ~ Marisa Brown
