Southern Avenue

Using vintage blues, gospel, and soul as their musical foundation, Southern Avenue brews a sound inspired by their Memphis base. Led by three Memphis-born sister singers -- lead vocalist Tierinii Jackson inspired by sixties and seventies soul divas, while her sisters, Tikyra Jackson on drums and Ava Jackson on violin, both harmonize. Guitarist Ori Naftaly (Tierinii's husband) plays blues, funk and soul leads filtered through roots rock & roll. The group's formula appeared on their self-titled 2017 debut album, while funkier rhythms filled out the attack on 2019's Keep On. In 2021, the group issued the Steve Berlin-produced Be the Love You Want, which was nominated for a Grammy award in the best blues album category. Following tours, the band signed with Chicago's Alligator Records label, and entered a Memphis studio with producer John Burk, and a small handful of guests including Luther Dickinson. They emerged with Family in April 2025.
