Nashil Pichen Kazembe

Nashil Pichen (born: Nashil Pichen Kazembe) was one of Rhodesia's greatest stars during the 1950s. Collaborating with Kenya-born multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Peter Tsotsi, Pichen created some of the most exciting sounds to emanate from Africa, helping to transform the sound of South Africa's kwela (pennywhistle) bands into an infectious, "twist"-style of dance music. ~ Craig Harris
